J. Houston Band – New World Order

A Blues-Rock band from North Bay, Ontario, Canada who have a strong sounding jolly-filled album of tunes – some with cheesy lyrics and arrangements to match while others are way deeper and thought provoking like the title track itself.

 

J Houston himself vocally reminds me of Roger Chapman. I love the large keyboard solo in the musically minimalistic ‘Lone Wolf’; the quirky ‘Chaotic (It’s Idiotic)’ that reminds of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ with blues and brass sounds or the tell it how it is ‘Climate Change Blues.

 

An Okay album.
