Crowbar/Tuskar/Swamp Coffin -

Corporation, Sheffield, Friday 31st March 2023

Kicking off the night was Swamp Coffin, a Rotherham sludge metal outfit. Their locality to Sheffield is really great.

We have a big underground sludge scene with these guys being one of the best in the local area. Their latest album release is 'Noose Almighty' and it was great to hear some of the tracks played live.

The band have clearly been inspired by the headliner, Crowbar. They even got a bit fan boy-ey on stage saying it was great to open for a band that means so much to them. Big congrats to them for that!

Overall, an awesome band with some good releases out there, and an awesome stage presence.

Next up were Tuskar. This is a band I have wanted to see for a while, so to see them on the big stage at Corp was great!

Another Sludge/Stoner Doom band, they delivered a long set of hard and heavy tracks. Tyler Hodges, the Drummer and Vocalist, managed to balance percussion with being the Frontman perfectly. His ability to control the audience and play drums at the same time is unmatched. He's armed with his light up drumstick and he is easily one of modern metals best drummers.

Tom Dimmock's work on the 6 string is just as good, with his riffs and licks always at the top of their game. Dimmock and Hodges are in sync with their playing. It's almost as if they are one with each other musically.

Overall, an amazing band that played an even better set.

In a relentless display of unadulterated power, the legendary sludge metal titans, Crowbar, descended upon Corporation to deliver a performance that was nothing short of earth-shaking.

With a legacy spanning decades and a reputation for their unwavering dedication to the sludge genre, Crowbar proved once again why they are held in such high regard by metal enthusiasts around the world.

Frontman, Kirk Windstein, a towering figure with a voice that carried the weight of a thousand souls, bellowed with raw emotion and intensity. Windstein's stage presence was commanding, his every movement and expression commanding the undivided attention of the crowd.

Guitarist, Matt Brunson lead work shattered the speakers of Corp, shaking the audience with solos and destructive riffs that echoed around the block, hitting hard and heavy.

The band's rhythm section, consisting of bassist Shane Wesley and drummer Tommy Buckley, gives crowbar the backbone it needs. The rumbling bass lines and thunderous percussion created a steady, pulsating..

Their impeccable timing and tight musicianship demonstrated the sheer mastery they possess over their instruments. In the end, Crowbar had left their mark, etching their legacy into the hearts and minds of all who witnessed their sonic onslaught.

Another unforgettable night at the Corp’
