A cracking bunch of covers that Chantel has delivered to us that are a mix of obscure and more widely known.

 

All done on acoustic guitar during lockdown in 2020 which she calls, "The Northern One" as opposed to Volume 1, but the latter title sounded posher – hahaha. The vocal echo was actually done by her sticking her head in her wardrobe door in the bedroom and the finished recording “sent off to Wayne to work his magic on” as Chantel states on the inside notes of the CD's digipack.

 

Thirteen songs are presented here that are truly beautiful with some incredible standouts in 'Sledgehammer' (Peter Gabriel), 'Gold Dust Woman' (Fleetwood Mac), 'Can't Find My Way Home' (Blind Faith), Nothing Else Matters (Metallica), Harvest Moon (Neil Young) & Love has No Pride' (Bonnie Raitt) with some being given a relaxing, delectable female touch for the first time ever.

 

A lovely set indeed.
